Trip no. 1-Jerusalem City of David

Thursday, February 19. Meeting at the Agnon House, 16 Klausner street, Talpiot. Parking opposite the American Embassy.

 Our first trip will begin with a short walk in the lovely Talpiot neighborhood. We will attempt to imagine how it appeared when Agnon chose to live there shortly after the founding of the neighborhood about 100 years ago. After visiting the Agnon House Museum, we will proceed to the magnificent lookout on the hill behind the Mar Elias monastery known as the "Hill of the Four" (Givat ha-arbaah). We will continue from there beyond the Har Choma neighborhood to the new pioneering town of Yatziv (Shdeyma) which was founded just recently, and then conclude with a visit to the tomb of Rachel on the road to Bethlehem.
